• SPRR Board Positions

    PRESIDENT

    DIRECTOR POSITION

    The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Club, and shall have general charge of the business affairs and property of the Club with general supervision over its other officers. The President shall preside at all Membership and Board of Directors meetings and shall see that all resolutions of the Board of Directors are carried into effect.

    VICE PRESIDENT

    DIRECTOR POSITION

    The Vice President shall serve as assistant to the President and shall oversee and

    coordinate such programs, activities and other duties as related to marketing and

    sponsorship and as may be delegated by the Board of Directors or the President. In the absence of the President or in the event of the President’s disability, the Vice President shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President. The Vice President may appoint one or more assistants.

    SECRETARY

    DIRECTOR POSITION

    The Secretary shall give or cause to be given the notice of Special Membership

    Meetings and of Special Board of Directors Meetings. The Secretary shall keep the

    minutes of the meetings of the membership and Board of Directors. The Secretary shall send copies of the minutes of all meetings to the Board of Directors and shall also see that the books, reports, statements, and all other documentation required by law are properly kept and filed. The Secretary shall perform such other duties as may be delegated by the President or the Board of Directors. The Secretary may appoint one or more assistants.

    TREASURER

    DIRECTOR POSITION

    The Treasurer shall have custody of the corporate funds and other valuable effects,

    shall keep full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements in the books

    belonging to the Club and shall deposit all monies and other valuable effects in the

    name and to the credit of the Club in such depositories may be designated by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall have the authority to disburse checks as provided by Article IX herein. The Treasurer shall maintain a system of internal fiscal control and shall report regularly to the Board of directors on the expenses and financial conditions of the Club. The Treasurer shall perform such other duties as may be delegated by the President or the Board of Directors. The Treasurer may appoint one or more assistants.

    MEMBERSHIP

    DIRECTOR POSITION

    The Membership Director shall maintain the official roster of members, shall issue

    membership certificates, and shall perform other such duties as may be delegated by the President or the Board of Directors. The Membership Director may appoint one or more assistants.

    NEWSLETTER

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    The Chair of the Newsletter Committee shall be responsible for the creation of the

    monthly SPRR Newsletter. This person shall write articles and/or direct others to write articles for the newsletter each month. The chair will send out the Newsletter to all members on or about the fourth week of each month, and a copy will be inserted into the SPRR website. The chair may appoint one or more assistants.

    SOCIAL MEDIA

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    The Chair of the Social Media Committee shall be responsible for the maintenance and content of Facebook and the SPRR website. Because of the technical nature and the need for IT expertise, the Chair will work with a committee and may appoint one or more assistants.

    COMMUNICATION

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    This position will be responsible for coordination and internal communications with the membership, as well as Public Relations and communications with outside

    organizations. This position may interact with the Social Media Chair as appropriate.

    The chair may appoint one or more assistants.

    BEACH RACES

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    This position will be the overall director of the Beach series. The position will work with a committee of individuals each of whom will be responsible for various aspects of race management, e.g., race promotion, registration, packet pick-up, race day logistics (start and finish lines, water stations, etc.), awards, etc. This position may also work with other committees such as communications and social media.

    VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    The Chair of the Volunteer Committee shall coordinate with event coordinators, race

    directors, etc. to solicit volunteers from among the membership.

    EQUIPMENT

    COMMITTEE POSITION

    This position will be responsible for the storage and access of Club equipment such as shirts and other Club apparel, race tents, tables, etc. As appropriate this position will also coordinate rentals of additional equipment as needed. This position may appoint one or more assistants.

  • Mission Statement

    The mission of the St. Pete Road Runners (SPRR) is to encourage running and walking for individuals of all ages and abilities in a social environment while promoting fitness and providing education in the community. The SPRR club is well suited for the recreational runner or walker as well as the serious competitor.

     

    SPRR extends an open invitation to runners and walkers of all abilities to come out and join us for one of our group runs.

  • SPRR Scholarship Award

    The SPRR Scholarship, established in 2012, is awarded annually to two high school seniors (one public school and one private/independent school) who excel in academics and are avid runners.
    Applications must be received no later than March 1, 2017.

    The scholarship award will be presented to the winners on April 13, 2017 at the Dolphin Beach Resort SPRR April Club Meeting.
